Nothing makes your house smell better than something yummy baking in the oven. The cathartic process of measuring, sifting and stirring is good for the soul and you don’t want to rush baking as it’s so pleasurable just to bake.

In today’s fast-paced life spending time in the kitchen creating a treat to share with family and friends does give us a super-warm feeling. Knowing we can help to make someone else’s day a little bit happier too makes baking a win-win situation.

The three sweet baked goods we’ve chosen to showcase in this class enable us to teach participants multiple techniques, sharpen skills and build confidence to try other recipes.

Learn the science (which is fascinating and kind of like magic when it relates to food) and you learn the rules to bake by. Mindful cooking provides a deeper understanding of  the ‘what’ and ‘why’ of a recipe rather than just following instructions. You’ll evolve into a cook who develops reliable intuition.

Cooking becomes a breeze when you reach the ‘gut feeling’ level in the kitchen. Cooking by rote won’t get you there any time soon, know-how comes from being open to learn, practicing by stepping in your kitchen with apron on to be rewarded with sweet (or savoury) satisfaction.
