As James Halliday says “There’s nothing better than matching your wine to a beautiful meal and good company. The enjoyment of food and wine is enhanced as much by the experience and those you choose to share it with as it is by choosing a pitch-perfect combination.”
What if you could learnt the simple ‘rules’ to choose the correct wine every time? Not only can you discover how to with practical and first-hand tastings alongside a beautiful fresh lunch or dinner cooked in front of you, but also be entertained by two of our very own South West professionals. I can assure you there’ll be lots of lively conversation and we’ll not only discuss and taste wines to enhance flavours but wines that don’t!
Two ‘top blokes’ we met on our inaugural Food Tour to the magic Southern Forests region in 2018, Ed Fallens (Tall Timbers) and Bob Peruch (Batista Estate) are joining us for the next Cooks Table Demo+ Dine Classes on 7th and 8th March.
These two will have you sitting on the edge of your seat with their wit and charm! Seriously I’m very excited to host classes with these two, between them they have a lifetime of knowledge about wine AND food.
Ed is the director of the successful Manjimup Tall Timbers. His passion for locally crafted wines is heartfelt and he’s committed to ensuring they are supported. Ed runs a very unique Wine Club which offers exclusively Manjimup wines giving a choice of local fine drops as opposed to wine from large-scale corporate owned wineries. He knows every single winemaker and vineyard owner, so the wines come direct from the farms to you.
Bob, pictured in his Italian-flag-colours cap showing us how to make fresh ricotta, also makes his own farmhouse cheese, salamis and grows a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables on his magnificent property in Manjimup. He produces among other wines, one of Australia’s best Pinot Noirs from grapes harvested from his un-irrigated vineyard. He’s a fabulous, knowledgeable and generous character who calls a spade, a spade. I know he’ll be a draw-card for past Tour participants at this class as we all love him!
If you are reading this before the classes have been held, please do book yourself a seat at our long table to experience this special event. These sessions are already half full, so don’t dilly dally.
