What is Grounded?
Grounded Festival is more than just an event; it's a movement aimed at reimagining farmer learning and community engagement. Inspired by Groundswell in the UK, Grounded offers multiple talks and demonstrations on-farm, organized by individuals deeply involved in food systems and agriculture. Expect good food stalls, great company, insightful sessions, and a bit of music to tie it all together.

Who started this?
Matthew Evans, Australian chef-turned-farmer and food writer, founded Grounded Australia after attending the UK’s Groundswell Festival in 2023. Inspired by its mix of regenerative agriculture education and community spirit, he set out to create an Australian event blending informative aspects of a conference, the hands-on experience of a field day, and the communal atmosphere of a food festival.

The festival is designed for anyone interested in sustainable food systems, soil health, gardening or nutrition. While some sessions are tailored for those directly involved in agriculture, many topics are relevant to a broader audience, including nutritionists, educators, and food enthusiasts. With multiple sessions each day, you can choose those that align with your interests and perhaps discover new ones.
