This is special... very special.

Joe, who is the mastermind behind Con Gelato, Perth's funkiest gelato brand has created a Pistachio Spread that is out of this world!

Using the best Pistachios from Italy and created without adding any nasties. This is a concentrated flavour, so a little goes a long way (that is if you are controlled enough to just have 'a little'!).

Joe says" Each of these jars is meticulously crafted “a mano” by hand, using traditional artisanal techniques. Our process involves a slow and careful churn in our stone grinders, incorporating the finest local and imported ingredients. Each jar is a labour of love, passion and dedication to the craft."

Refrigerate after opening.

A FEW IDEAS ON HOW TO USE apart from spooning it straight from the jar!

  • Spread on white sliced bread for a decadent treat.
  • Cut a warm croissant in half and fill with this spread.
  • Whip into cream to decorate desserts - think layered Mille Feuille or on top of a pavlova with stone fruit or strawberries and a little orange zest.
  • Mix into a no-bake cheesecake to add an incredible flavour (swirl surface with melted white chocolate)
  • Drizzle over vanilla ice cream.
  • Add to icing for cakes.
  • Fill mini pastry shells and top with seasonal fruit.
  • Goes well with Pomegranate

INGREDIENTS: Pistachio DOP Bronte 45%, caster sugar, skimmed milk powder, sunflower oil, cocoa butter, sunflower lecithin

Thanks to Spring St Grocer in Melbourne who explains the special pistachios so well.

"Pistachio di Bronte are a type of pistachio nut grown in a small, mountainous village in Sicily. Bronte sits on Mt Etna, an active volcano, in the province of Catania. This pistachio variety grows only on this hilly volcanic earth, and only here does it acquire a bright emerald-green colour and an intense fragrance and rich, full flavour.

Their official title is pistacchio verde di Bronte DOP (which means green pistachio from Bronte, controlled designation of origin) "
