Manjimup Western Australia

Saturday 19th to Sunday 20th December 2026

A stunning long table lunch among the cherry trees. This is summer in the Southern Forests at its best.

We return to a special orchard we enjoyed last season, where cherries, good company and a long, relaxed lunch come together in the middle of harvest.

And in the festive spirit, rather than charging a fee to host us, the orchard owners ask that we make a donation to Perth Children’s Hospital – a quietly thoughtful gesture that says a lot about them.
This is a weekend to step away, slow down and ease into the festive season in the most delicious way.

What's in store on this food adventure

Peak Cherry Season

Peak Cherry Season

December is when Manjimup truly comes alive. Trees heavy with fruit, warm air, and the steady rhythm of harvest in full swing. We time this weekend to catch the cherries at their absolute best. You’ll be right amongst it—seeing the orchard at full production, stepping into the packing shed as cherries are washed, sorted and prepared for market, and understanding just how much work goes into getting them from tree to table. And yes, there’s the chance to buy cherries straight from the shed – perfect for your own Christmas celebrations.

Meet the Growers

Meet the Growers

This is Western Australia’s largest cherry orchard, yet it’s still run day-to-day by a husband-and-wife team who are deeply connected to what they grow.

They’ll welcome us onto their property and share what it takes to produce cherries at this scale – while still keeping a close eye on quality, timing and every part of the process. It’s a genuine, behind-the-scenes look at orchard life, with people who are as generous as they are knowledgeable.

Set the Orchard Table

Set the Orchard Table

Our long table is set amongst the cherry trees, ready and waiting. A glass of local wine in hand, fruit all around, and nowhere else you need to be. Tracey will personally design and cook a menu just for this weekend – built around cherries, seasonal produce and relaxed summer dining. Expect generous, shared dishes, thoughtful wine pairings, and the kind of meal that unfolds at an easy pace with plenty of conversation along the way. It’s not rushed, not overdone – just a beautiful way to spend an afternoon in a place most people never get to experience like this.

One weekend, one long table.

Join us for a pre-Christmas escape that brings together the best of the Southern Forests.

We take care of everything – from the journey south with a stop at one of our favourite Bridgetown farms, to comfortable country accommodation in Manjimup, and a seasonal fruit stop on the way home.

All you need to do is gather your people, book your place, and look forward to a weekend that feels like a proper break.

Well….. what can I say after returning from the magical Orchard Cherry lunch tour with your amazing organisation.  Your detail to everything is second to none. Being very “old school” hospitality I loved every minute.

And thank you Tracey and Anthony running Matters of Taste – an organisation you should be proud of.
