Exceptional food experience, like no other in Perth. Small group food tour - maximum of 12 people. Scheduled on multiple dates throughout the year.
There’s something rather magical about watching humble ingredients become foods we all know and love.
From fresh milk come beautiful cheeses and creamy gelato. From flour, water and time emerge crusty loaves, flaky pastries and fresh pasta made each morning. They’re foods many of us enjoy every day, yet rarely pause to consider the hands, knowledge and dedication that bring them to our tables.
This is a celebration of Perth’s skilled makers – the cheesemakers, bakers, pasta makers and gelato artisans who quietly transform simple ingredients into something extraordinary.
Spend the day meeting them, hearing their stories and tasting their craft, and you’ll leave with a richer appreciation for the food that fills your plate and shopping basket every week.
What's in store on this food adventure
The Day
Cheesemaker – Step inside the production facility where WA milk becomes incredibly fresh burrata, stracciatella, mozzarella and more. Miller & Baker – See one of Perth’s few bakery mills in action and discover why milling regeneratively grown WA wheat on site makes this bread so special. Enjoy gorgeous coffee and choose a golden pastry. Pasta Maker – Watch fresh pasta being made, meet the maker and explore an Italian deli packed with delicious things. Lunch – Settle in with a respected local hospitality team for a made-from-scratch shared lunch celebrating WA ingredients. Drinks available to purchase. Gelato Maker – Finish at a Perth favourite known for creating clever, fun flavours – choosing which one to have may be the hardest part of the day.
The People
These makers go the extra mile – sometimes quite literally adding another stage to their working day. Meet bakers who mill regeneratively grown WA wheat on site each day because they believe the quality and nutrition of great bread begins with healthy soil, and cheesemakers continually exploring what can be made from local milk, including beautiful halloumi-style cheese using WA buffalo milk. Meet a pasta maker keeping one of Italy’s most adored staples firmly part of everyday Perth life – because really, imagine a world without pasta! Along the way you’ll see the knowledge, persistence and skilled hands behind food made properly, and meet people who still believe those extra steps are absolutely worth taking.
The Food
Familiar foods become something quite different when exceptional ingredients and skilled hands are involved. Taste incredibly fresh and often still warm, burrata, stracciatella and mozzarella made with WA milk, bread made from regeneratively grown wheat that’s milled on site, and choose your own golden pastry to enjoy with delicious coffee. Discover fresh pasta made with top-notch local produce alongside a deli brimming with Italian treats, then settle in for a shared lunch where everything is made from scratch – including much-loved pies that taste reassuringly homemade. And to finish? Gelato from one of the Perth makers who first got us excited about clever, delicious flavour combinations.
